Emerging Technologies

I selected the article about the Light-Field Cameras.  These cameras are really cool; they allow you to refocus the picture in any way    after it's been taken.  They are also affordable enough for customers to buy.  These cameras have many thin plastic films patterned with tiny microlenses which allow the camera to determine from which direction the light is coming.  This, in turn, is what makes it possible for the camera to find so many lighting, coloring, and focusing possibilities to chose from.  The pictures are not really stored as pictures    they're actually stored as miniature databases, which also makes the focusing changes possible.
I'd make the assumption that in about five years, everybody is going to have one of these cameras, now that they're more affordable than they were before.  What surprised me the most is that eventually everything will be able to be shot in sharp focus, regardless of the distance from where the photo was taken.  In this area, the future possibilities would be that everybody will have one of these cameras and almost everything will be able to be edited and refocused just with the touch of the shutter button.  In 2009, there was an idea for a future technology that remotely controlling network hardware with software can bring the Internet up to speed.  Now this is being used almost everywhere.  It's amazing how fast somethings can work.
If I could have one of these new cameras, I think I might die from the sheer awesomeness of the idea.  It's amazing that these cameras are less breakable and more affordable then they were just six months ago.  The thought of me getting my hands on one of these bad babies (Yeah, I said bad babies) is seeming less and less like a dream!
