Google

In this new policy, all information entered by users via Google will be indexed together.  Also, there will be ads relating to the users current and previous searches. Only Google Books, Wallet, and Chrome will be excluded from the new policy. 
This new privacy policy will allow Google to track all personal information on you.  Eric Schmidt, Google's former CEO, said "If you have something that you don;t want anyone to know, maybe you shouldn't be doing it in the first place." This comment rose a lot of issues.  It caused some sites to post very personal things about Schmidt's life online, and reporters were able to get his social security number easily.  This new policy would be like Google being all creepy behind you and peering over your shoulder, reading every personal conversation you have, seeing every site you visit, and showing it for everyone to see.  It's creepy, and if you don't thinik so, I have some questions about how your brain functions.  (Just kidding... partially...)

Honestly, I don't really have an opinion about all this.  I'm not on either side.  Google makes it sound like the new policy will be great for everyone, but most other sites have protested against it and made it into a horrible thing.  I'm leaning towards saying it's a bad thing, but I don't want to say that's my opinion then learn something new and change my mind.

Copyright Infringement

Michael Bolton v. The Isley Brothers


Michael Bolton and the Isley Brothers both created a song with the same name and some of the same lyrics.  T.I.B. released "Love is a Wonderful Thing" in 1966 while Bolton released his in 1991.  T.I.B sued Bolton and the court found in his favor.  The Isley Brothers were awarded 5.4 million dollars, the calculation based on 66% of past and future royalties.

Internet Safety

I believe that internet safety is not harming others and yourself on the internet.  The three most important things about being safe online are having common sense when you're on the computer, if you wouldn't say it to your mom, don't say it online, and be careful what you post because it never goes away and it will end up stabbing you in the back.  No, I didn't learn anything new because I've been to multiple schools, and each one taught me the same thing.  Personally, no, because I rarely get on the computer anyway, unless it's for research.  Honestly, on Facebook, I only have 57 friends because they're the only ones I talk to.

Feed Readers

Out of all three feed readers my favorite would be Bloglines.  It's easy to use and you can separate your feeds into different tabs.  Thta helps so your not looking at everything at once, but your also looking at a variety of sites, not just ones dealing with a certain tag.  News Gator was too difficult to set up, no matter how many times we tried.  Even after we set it up, we couldn't figure out how to add any sites.  So, overall, my favorite feed reader is Bloglines.
